Who Gets Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)

Anyone can develop CKD. Some people are more likely to have CKD than others. Click on any of the links below for more information.

You are at more risk for CKD if you have:

* Diabetes
* High blood pressure
* A family member with kidney failure
* Heart disease
* Are over 60 years old

Some racial and ethnic groups are also more likely to have CKD. These include:

* African Americans
* Hispanics/Latinos
* Native Americans
* Asian and Pacific Islanders
